A logging tractor-trailer killed Claudia Tena de Ramirez of Glenwood Springs, Colorado on August 16 in a horrific trucking accident due to careless driving. According to the Glenwood Springs Post Independent, the logging truck driver ran a red light at an intersection while driving southbound on Highway 82 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. De Ramirez made a legal left turn in her Jeep onto Highway 82, and the truck driver hit the driver’s side of the vehicle. De Ramirez wore a seat belt at the time of the accident, but she died at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer, John Briggs of Del Norte, did not incur any injuries. Colorado State Patrol state that alcohol, drugs and speed are not factors in the crash.
